Family Dispute Resolution (FDR)

Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) is a structured mediation process that helps caregivers and whānau work through parenting arrangements for their children.

As an FDR mediator, my role is to provide a calm and balanced environment in which people can step back from conflict and focus on the needs and wellbeing of their children. The process supports caregivers to communicate, work together and reach practical agreements about care and contact arrangements and parental understandings.

Fees for FDR mediation

From 1 July 2025, mediation fees for Family Dispute Resolution are covered through the Ministry of Justice.
