Farm debt matters often involve multiple parties, including lenders, and may follow a different process from private mediation.

In New Zealand, farm debt mediation operates under a formal scheme established under the Farm Debt Mediation Act 2019 – via MPI.

When appointed through this process, my role as mediator is to provide a pragmatic, robust and fair environment in which parties can talk through the issues from their own perspectives, while building practical and realistic solutions.
